Delivering a lecture was titled “Orientation; Lost and Found” said Nigeria being the largest country in Africa and which other countries look up to for guidance and leadership should have developed beyond its present.
“Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa. We have the human resources. We should not be lagging behind. In the 60s, we were at the same level with Korea but they have left us behind,” he noted.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah corroborated the lecturer saying “the truth is that it shouldn’t be this year that Nigeria is declared the largest economy in Africa, this should have happened many, many years ago. We have 170 million people we have always been the largest in Africa.
Professor Na’Allah said “as largest country in Africa, we have this responsibility. I think that Nigeria must wake up from its slumber. Nigeria must begin now to take everything seriously.
