As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks two years in office, Emmanuel Ayantayo, former President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at the University of Abuja, has commended the administration for what he described as a bold, youth-centered, and reform-driven leadership style that is delivering measurable progress.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, Ayantayo highlighted several key achievements under President Tinubu’s watch, including the full activation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund), a program now providing accessible loans to indigent students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

He described the recent announcement of a ₦45,000 monthly stipend for technical students as a visionary policy that places value on skills acquisition and vocational education, both critical to national productivity and employment generation.

“The ₦45,000 monthly stipend is not just an incentive. It is a deliberate investment in Nigeria’s technical future. President Tinubu’s administration is showing it understands the link between youth empowerment and national development,” Ayantayo said.

The former student leader also praised the successful hosting of the National Youth Conference, noting that it created a strategic forum for young Nigerians to engage with policymakers, share innovative ideas, and chart a course for their future in the country.

Additionally, Ayantayo commended the administration’s implementation of critical tax reform bills, which he said are key to rebuilding the nation’s economic structure, enhancing transparency, and boosting non-oil revenue.

“These reforms show that President Tinubu is focused on long-term solutions, not quick fixes. His administration has taken some difficult but necessary steps to reposition Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth,” he noted.

Ayantayo concluded by urging Nigerian youths to remain engaged, innovative, and supportive of the nation-building agenda, while also encouraging the President to deepen youth inclusion in governance and economic planning.

“President Tinubu’s two years in office have laid a strong foundation. It is now our collective responsibility, especially as young Nigerians, to build upon it and ensure Nigeria’s future is one we can all be proud of,” he said.
