Children drawn from different parts of Osun State on Tuesday converged at the Osun State Government House and celebrated with Sherifat Aregbesola and her husband, Osun state governor Rauf Aregbesola to mark the end of the year.

The party was organised by the First Lady through her pet project, Sheri Care Foundation (SCARF) and it has become an annual event since the first regime of Aregbesola’s administration.

The children also received gifts from the First Lady and cut a cake alongside  the governor and his wife amidst dancing and excitement.

In her address, the First Lady said the party was way for the kids to rejoice and interact with one another in the spirit of the festive period.

 She admonished the children to embrace hard work and shun all forms of immoral behaviour so that they would become great men and women to be reckoned with in the future.

Aregbesola commended the administration of Governor Aregbesola for the school feeding programme, construction of new schools and the support for women and children development programmes.

Governor Aregbesola urged parents to always take good care of their kids and give them sound education.

He expressed worry that parents of pupils in public schools in the state were scared from sending their wards to the newly built schools because of fear of tuition fees.
