Writing is Philips Ororho’s passion and he writes to highlight the plight of the developing nations and its poor people. In his poetry book “Exit of the Leviathan” (published by Partridge Africa in May of 2016), Ororho stresses this point.

Set for a new marketing campaign, the book highlights the problems of poverty, stealing and looting of the public treasury in Africa and other developing nations expressed in poetic form. It seeks to call the attention of developed countries to help support African nations and its suffering masses as well as the poor countries of the world.

“Through my poetry, I would like readers to realize the plight of Africa, Nigeria and the rest of the third world,” Ororho says. “I hope the leaders of developed countries will heed the call of underdeveloped nations.”

An excerpt from the poem “Downplay the Leviathan”:

Sand dunes, holocaust of winds

With no trace of mirage

Still the hero marches on

Believing in the end, he did meet

With the purpose of the odyssey.

Footsteps in the desert

Traces of a hero going on an odyssey

Leaving behind his thoughts

The Leviathan, that accompanies failure
