The president of the group, Mr Lanre Ajayi in a paper titled cyber-security: challenges and management, lamented that international financial institutions now view Nigerian financial instruments with fear and skepticism owing to the scam mails.

According to him, Nigerian internet service providers (ISPs) were being blacklisted and e-mails from the country were being blocked across the internet as a result of the same cyber crime.

Ajayi bemoaned a situation where some organizations even blocked the entire internet network and traffic originating from Nigeria due to this scam.
