Expert raises alarm over fake dieticians

Former Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, Hajiya Sa’udatu Sani Lere has decried the high rate of roadside dieticians in the country.
She raised the alarm while receiving an award from the Kaduna Polytechnic for renovating, furnishing and equipping laboratories and workshop of the Department of Food Technology in the institution.
She frowned at the activities of persons who go about prescribing diets to people without knowing and acquiring the rudiments of the profession thereby causing nutrition related diseases.
Sani, an alma mater of the institution, and who is also an expert on nutrition said she decided to equip the department to enhance the study of nutrition  in the institution, and against the activities of roadside dieticians.
