Speaking as a guest lecturer at the third edition of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation’s (MMF) 2013 Public Policy Dialogue in Lagos with the theme: ‘Investing in Africa’s Future: Unlocking the Potential of our Next Generation of Leaders,’ Akinyemi said attention is now being focused on the important issue of leadership education with the aim of exploring innovative strategies for developing a new generation of leaders that will finally guide Africa to greatness.
“We have been doing the type of education we have today since I was in elementary school and we can’t afford to keep doing same thing continuously and expect to get a different result. We are in a digital world but we have less than 30 per cent of Nigeria students on digital platform. Digital platform is very important and we must ensure to maximise its benefits. You have to do what you are trying to learn and that’s how it stays with you so that by the time you’re done, you will not just be a theoretical person”, Akinyemi said.
