Austrian information technology expert, Walter Mayer,  has urged the federal government to embrace information technology in pursuing diversification of the nation’s economy. 

Giving the advice in Abuja at a round table on ‘Dynamics of Agro-ICT Satellite Solutions’ convened by Dilimson Holdings Limited, he applauded the federal government for seeking diversification from the oil sector but stressed on the need to deploy ICT in managing its resources.

He noted that his company was prepared to partner with Nigeria on the use of ICT in developing the economy, stressing that many other developed countries have also faced economic recession at some point but succeeded in getting out through the introduction of ICT aided diversification.
