Henry Oguoma, a power expert, has indicated readiness to end the age- long failure in electrical power system in Nigeria.

Expressing worries over the lingering crisis in the power sector, Oguoma assured that the whatever technical challenges that have made power epileptic in all parts of the country would be a thing of the past if the authorities allow him to be involved in the process.

The consultant made this known to journalists at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, Imo State, at the weekend.

He said in the course of proffering technical solutions to the power menace, transformer sensors (Gridscan 6000) that detect Hydrogen and Moisture in the presence of transformer liquids would be injected to measure and report on the transformer pressure and temperature.

The specialist said the sensors can as well be applicable to solar Grids battery storage rooms to regulate temperature and dictate hydrogen leakage that could collapse and that when installed in the transformers, which can last for 20 years with Maintenance free status.

He said: “To attain success in the Nigeria electrical power system,installation of some equipment would be done by a local team after their trainings by the International partners which he said would be supported by our 35 years in the power system and control operations and support services,” he said.

According to him, such services would target market for solar grids, rural electrification agency amongst others.

Oguoma made references to their previous interventions in the power systems, control and maintenance of MV/HV transformer, substation transformer switch gear installations and assured such would be applied to attain success.

He said: “A warranty for 20 years of free maintenance and a pilot test to show case how the equipment can protect the grid and other critical infrastructure would be in place”.

He assured the readiness to support the Federal government to develop Hydrogen Vehicles which is a clear option for CNG technology.

He said that already they have begun talks on how they can build a laboratory where the equipment will be provided locally in Nigeria and exported to other countries.
