Professor Gambo, who said the team is in the state for a five-day seminar and to assess the agricultural programs put in place by Governor Nyako, urged other governors to emulate Nyako’s agricultural policy.
Describing Governor Nyako’s agricultural policy in the state as a pathway for human development, the Professor said Nyako merited the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s award given to him as the best governor of the federation in the area of agriculture.
“I am the consultant to the 36 governors of the federation on agriculture; honestly Governor Murtala Nyako’s giant stride on agriculture marveled us as experts. We need to tell the whole world that Nyako is a role model when it comes to agricultural matters,” he said.
Professor Gambo said the absolute peace being enjoyed among the 89 ethnic components in the state was as a result of the massive employment opportunities created by Governor Nyako’s administration through his agricultural program.
Members of the assessment team include Professor Abdullahi Abba, a rice specialist from the University of Maiduguri, Engineer Silas Okoli, Professor BGJ kabir, Dr. Celestine Ayok, Prof. Hauwa Biu and Dr. Abubakar Abba Aji.
