Experts are set to converge to chart a way for how engineering and planning could help to enhance national security at the 12th Waheed Kadiri Lecture Series.

The lecture organised by the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Ogun State Chapter, will focus on the topic: Designing safer Nigeria: Engineering, planning and the fight against insecurity. 

In a statement, the discussion at the 12th Waheed Kadiri Lecture Series would be steered by the Vice Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, Professor Jeremiah Ojediran, a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers, who is the guest speaker.

The committee’s Chairman, Tpl Oladunjoye Arowosegbe said the choice of topic for the lecture series was part of the institute’s contributions towards the development of the country.

The NITP Waheed Lecture Series honours the achievements of Africa’s foremost planner, Waheed Kadiri, Principal Partner at  Kadiri Associates Limited and former president of Nigerian Institution of Town Planners, Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON) and former Chairman, African Planning Association.

He was also a two-term Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. The annual lecture coincides with his birthday and brings together professionals and dignitaries from far and wide in a joyous atmosphere of professional excellence and community service.
