An explosion from a gas cylinder on Monday killed one Mrs Adeola Adewale while she was cooking in her home.

The incident, which occurred at the Egbe Garage area in Omu-Aran in Irepodun LGA, had the husband trapped before he was rescued.

The spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, told City & Crime on Tuesday that, “Her husband and children were in the sitting room when they heard an explosion and they all ran away.

“But her husband who returned to rescue her was trapped inside fire and sustained injuries. The woman died from the high degree burns suffered during the incident while the husband was taken to the hospital.”
