The Port-Harcourt side is presently in Uyo for the group stage of the 2011 Federation Cup. The trio of Bayelsa United, Kaduna United and Sunshine Stars are in the same group with Sharks.

“I’ve been on loan at Sharks but they’re yet to pay the agent, who owns my rights. As a result, I’ve stopped playing for the team.

“That’s the reason why I’m not involved with Sharks in the Federation Cup. I’m presently in Port-Harcourt,’ Ezeji, who is the most decorated player in the NPL, said to SuperSport.com.

When asked about his future, he replied: “This season is over for me and I’m through with Sharks.”

Ezeji was on his way to rivals, Enugu Rangers, on the eve of the present term, but Sharks persuaded him to remain for the Wafu Cup. The decision to remain turned out to be historic as Ezeji played a significant role as Sharks won their first-ever title.

Interestingly, Ezeji scored the goal that earned Sharks the sub-regional title last December.

There are strong indications that the experienced forward, who has won everything in the country for clubs like defunct Eagle Cement, Dolphins and Enyimba, will not be short of suitors as the end of season transfer window draws nearer.
