A video has surfaced online showing the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Iyinola Omisore, distributing cash and clothing materials to a crowd at an open space decorated for an event.

“They impoverished them, starved them, so they can easily be controlled like zombies. #OsunDecides2022.”
In the less than 2 minutes video, Omisore could be seen wearing a green traditional attire with a cap to match sharing N2,000 to individuals, mostly women. Also at the venue, another man could be seen doing same.
The post was made on 14th July, 2022, and had been retweeted several times.
Verification
Key frame analysis of the video using InVid, an online video verification tool, revealed that the video had been on the internet since 2014.
The video was first posted by Ynaija in a report titled, “#OsunDecides: Thousands gather in Osogbo as Omisore shares cash.”
Part of the report reads, “There were thousands of people at the field beside the OYESTECH training centre in Osogbo this afternoon. They were there to receive a sum of money per person from the Omisore Youth Support Foundation (OYSF).”
Omisore had run for the Osun State governorship seat in 2014 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and lost to Rauf Aregbesola, who was the incumbent governor.
He contested again in 2018 on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) where he came third behind Senator Ademola Adeleke of PDP and eventual winner, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Conclusion
The video alleging that Omisore was buying votes in today’s governorship election in Osun State is false and misleading.
