The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) says its President, Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, has been abducted by gunmen in Abuja.

NANS in a statement signed by Comrade Umar Abdullahi, its Secretary General said Isah was abducted on his way from the Defence Headquarters where he went to lodge a complaint regarding threat to life and impersonation of his office.

“Consequently, NANS wishes to call for the immediate and unconditional release of its president by those holding him hostage.

“We call on Mr. President, the National Security Adviser (NSA) and all relevant security agencies to ensure that Comrade Atiku is released immediately and unharmed,” the statement said.
