A man who posed as an army lieutenant to see the wife of the Kebbi State governor for what he called a brief consultation has been arrested by the officials of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The man, ‘Lieutenant’ Nasiru Abubakar Bako ‘of the Nigerian Army’ and his orderly Hussaini Umaru were intercepted by men of the DSS inside the Government House in Birnin Kebbi as he was making attempt to see Dr. Zainab Bagudu.
He and the orderly have been handed over to the police.
Speaking to journalists on the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Kabiru said they were being investigated.
The commissioner also disclosed that a banker in one of the banks in Birnin Kebbi said to have defrauded one Hajiya Fatima Umaru of N5 million on the pretext of buying treasury bills for her but converted the money to his personal use had been nabbed.
He said the banker whose name was given as Thomson Ongaji was arrested at his residence behind Nakowa Guest Inn in Birnin Kebbi.
