The suspect who was paraded along  with 21 other suspects for various offences at the police headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state confessed to forging the identity card of the international television station.
He however claimed having a genuine contract with the television station as well as being a staff of the Rivers State Broadcasting  Corporation.
The suspect was apprehended on Wednesday by the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa state, Comrade Tarinyo Akono when he (suspect) was negotiating an interview appointment with the state commissioner for Energy, Barr. Akio Francis.
Paul was subsequently handed over to the State Security Service (SSS).
The suspect was also alleged to have collected huge undislcosed sums of money from the Commissioner of Information, Deacon Markson Fefegha and the Secretary to the state Government, Prof. Allison Oguru claiming that he would feature the activities of Bayelsa state Government on the CNN.
Also paraded were three suspects arrested in connection with the kidnap of five workers of Beks Nig. Ltd and Sidon Ltd engaged by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for Shore line protection and Reclamation at Opuama in Southern Ijaw local government area.
Adressing newsmen earlier in his office, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara said his men stormed the suspected kidnappers’ hideout and the trio of Izekemi Thomas, Desmond Sunday (both males) and Naomi Bassey (female).
Naomi is said to be the girl friend of one of the suspects who is currently at large.
