The southern African country will be the focus of attention for the next two weeks as its hosts the finest women’s national teams in the female version of the Africa Cup of Nations.
 Namibia is the second country in Southern Africa to host the championship after neighbours South Africa (2000, 2004, 2010), and will be hoping to take the bar to the next level.
“We are looking forward to having a successful tournament. This is the first time we are hosting an event of this magnitude, but we are hoping it will be a success,” said Barry Rukoro, General Secretary of the Namibia Football Association (NFA) and a member of the Local Organising Committee during yesterday’s opening ceremony.
