The family of late Michael Kayode Bamisaye, who committed suicide on Monday in Ekiti State, has said the death has nothing to do with politics.

Bamisaye, the Director of Finance in Ise/Orun Local Government Council, reportedly jumped into a well in his residence behind Tinuola Maximum Schools, off Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

There have been unconfirmed reports that Bamisaye might have taken his own life as a result of the July 14 governorship election won by the APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

In a statement Friday in Ado Ekiti by one Mr. Cosmas Bamisaye on behalf of his family, said the unfounded stories being peddled had further aggravated their sorrow.

The statement said, “We are conscious that the social media and some news outlets have since been awash with  insinuations and half-truths.”
