Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation and Ambassador-designate, has responded to media entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu over comments relating to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging a more measured and constructive political discourse.

In a statement titled “Still on Dele Momodu” issued Thursday in Abuja, Fani-Kayode expressed disagreement with Momodu’s position, describing his remarks as largely emotional and not reflective of the broader political context.

He said he had previously exercised restraint out of longstanding acquaintance but felt compelled to respond in order to clarify his views.

Fani-Kayode maintained that his earlier comments on President Tinubu were intended to reflect his assessment of current political realities and ongoing reforms.

The former minister noted that he has remained consistent in his support for President Tinubu since joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2021, including active participation during the 2023 presidential campaign.

He also addressed differences in political alignment, stating that individuals are entitled to their positions but should engage in issue-based discourse.

Fani-Kayode further questioned the effectiveness and preparedness of emerging political alliances, arguing that credibility and clear policy direction are essential in shaping Nigeria’s political future.

He emphasised the need for political engagement to remain focused on national development, policy debates, and constructive contributions rather than personal disagreements.

Reaffirming his support for the current administration, he said the reforms introduced since 2023 are, in his view, necessary for Nigeria’s long-term stability and growth.

Fani-Kayode added that differing opinions should be expressed responsibly, noting that democratic engagement requires mutual respect despite political differences.
