Some supporters of Kano Pillars football club have expressed happiness with the approval given by the League Management Company (LMC) for their darling club to prosecute the 2021/2022 season at the Sani Abacha stadium.

It will be recalled that Pillars had adopted the Ahmadu Bello stadium as their home ground for two seasons when Sani Abacha stadium was converted into one of the COVID-19 isolation centres in Kano.

With the decline in the cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the stadium was reopened and the necessary renovations carried out on it for Pillars to return to their fortress.

A fan of the club, Abdulmalik Hamza said, “We are so happy that our boys will be back home to play their matches here at Sani Abacha Stadium. We missed them a lot when they played home away from home for at least two seasons.

On his part, Junior Lukas said, “Home is home. No matter what you are given outside, the comfort is incomparable. But now that they will be back home, I am sure we will see them back to the real warriors they are. It will surely be a morale booster”.

19 year old Rabiu Abdullahi, who always gets himself a seat at the Sani Abacha Stadium to cheer up his favourite home club and players also said, “I am more than happy.”

In the same vein, Suhayl Umar and a local football coach from Hotoro popularly called Olaiya Muhammad unanimously agreed that it was not easy for Pillars to play their home matches in Kaduna for two seasons.
