According to PREMIUM TIMES, Mr Dan’iyan stated that Ms Ikeji had lifted over 10,000 copyrighted pictures and stories over the past 5 years without authorization from the copyright owners.
Google on the other hand, while declining to categorically ‎say the reason why it shut the site down, stated that it doesn’t tolerate the violation of its terms of service, which includes intellectual property theft.
The site was however restored 24 hours after it was taken down. This action sparked a lot of reactions on the social media Twitter as her fans and other Nigerians stated how they felt:

Linda Ikeji also tweeted after the site was restored  24 hours‎ after it was taken down. She had this to say via her handle @lindaikeji: “And Google restores lindaikeji.blogspot.com. I hear it’s a record. Normally it takes weeks or months to restore a deleted blog, but not LIB”.
