The fans in addition called for the immediate sack of the coach of the team, Samson Siasia as they accused him of technical ineptitude and high handedness.

The rampaging fans attempted to descend on the players and their officials as they moved to leave the pitch but when the vigilant security operatives stopped them from having their way, they transferred aggression and began to vandalize properties at the stadium.

Most of the angry fans who spoke to Feverpitch blamed Siasia for creating disaffection in the team that resulted in the unimpressive performance of the team.

One of them said the second goal against the Super Eagles was as a result of poor timing on the part of the goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba

The fan recalled that the first choice goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was sidelined by the coach simply because he did not like the face of the talented goalkeeper.

Another fan who spoke to Feverpitch in tears said Siasia’s pride was responsible for the result of the match which has effectively ended the team’s dream of appearing at the next Africa Cup of Nations.

He said the coach committed tactical blunder when he started the match with Osaze and waited till when it was too late before he brought on a more effective Ikechukwu Kalu.

Furthermore, the fan said when Siasia substituted Joel Obi who is good at ball holding, he made the mid-field vulnerable and that was how the Guineans made quick incursions that resulted into the second goal.

“Siasia has just proved that he is tactically deficient. He started the match with the wrong players and crowned it all with poor substitutions. This brings his match reading ability into question”.

Consequently, most of the fans were unanimous in their call for the immediate sack of Coach Siasia.

Following the tension that mounted after the match, the usual post match conference could not hold as both teams had to be smuggled out of the stadium.
