In this special publication, we present to you Daily Trust’s Unsung Heroes as nominated by our readers. They have been so recognised for the commendable things they are doing for the good of their communities and the country in general.

The Boko Haram war, from 2009 to date, has claimed a number of soldiers, left many critically wounded. Some are recuperating– and ready to return to the battle field to finish a national assignment they believe must be won! 

There are also those, now known as Civilian JTF, who believe that the business of keeping the peace should not be left to the security agents alone. Like the soldiers they are helping, many of them have paid the supreme price in their efforts to protect their communities. They have remained undaunted.

 

In two articles (on pages 30, 31 and 32, we tell the stories of the soldiers and civilian JTF through a profile of their colleagues.
