The court heard that the accused, Fabian Ndyanguhar, on November 5 this year, went to the compound of Margaret Nyorior of Igbor village, Aliade to forcefully take the girl, who was at home alone, to Igbor Hill, where he had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The prosecutor told the court that the mother of the girl, Nyorior reported the matter to the police in Alaide, from where the case was transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation in Makurdi.
According to the prosecutor, the offence was contrary to section 284 of the penal code laws of Benue State, 2004. He added that during investigation, the accused confessed to have committed the crime.
However, the accused did not take any plea when the case was mentioned. Magistrate Lillian Tsumba has adjourned the case till December 4.
