The General Manager of LABANA Rice Mills, Malam Abdullahi Idris Zuru, has said the agricultural exhibition and Farmers Interactive Forum, a collaboration by Daily Trust and the Kebbi State Government, where agro suppliers, manufacturers, processors and farmers were brought together to discuss will provide the agricultural industry in the country opportunity to improve production.

Zuru said, “It is a good development that major players and stakeholders in the agriculture sector are coming together to improve the nation’s economy. The collaboration between Daily Trust and the Kebbi State Government is the first of its kind in recent years.”

He said while the government was diversifying its economy to agriculture, Daily Trust was diversifying from news reporting to improving and encouraging food production in Nigeria.

“Interestingly, those who are at the exhibition and interactive forum are Kebbi farmers and majority of the stakeholders are from Kebbi. This will assist government to provide the needed support for its farmers and suppliers and the enabling environment to increase their production.”

He added that at the end of the year there would be collaboration between suppliers, manufacturers and traders of various farm produce in Kebbi State and Nigeria.

“That is why LABANA is participating fully to ensure efficient food production for the development of the country. This is very encouraging, promising and it means we are gradually moving to the Promised Land by ensuring that we have enough food to feed the nation,” he said.
