Fashola to open artisans training Jan

Construction Skills Training and Empowerment (C-Stemp), an institute for training artisans for the construction industry, will start its Artisans Training and Skill Acquisition Scheme in January next year in Abuja.
A statement signed by C-Stemp Project Director Mr Anthony Okwa said C-Stemp project is an initiative of JHL spurred by DFID via the construction ideas fund.
According to him, it is an accelerated skills development programme aimed at preparing eligible beneficiaries for employment as skilled workers or independent labour/Tradesmen, Contractors/Entrepreneurs in the housing and construction industry.
Areas of training include: Concreting, Masonry, Plastering, Carpentry, Electrical Installations and Maintenance, Plumbing Installation & Maintenance, Tiling, Painting and Steel Fabrication.
The flagging off of  C-Stemp Artisans Training will feature exhibition of various trades  and presentation of technical papers on the theme: Construction Skills Development for Employment  Generation: Enhancing Quality and Productivity in the construction Industry and is expected to be declared open by the Minister for Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola.
