A video has emerged of former Kano state governor Umar Ganduje on Father’s Day telling fathers what to do about their families and drug addiction.
“I urge all fathers to continue looking after their families, to continue to monitor the discipline of their children,” he said.
He added a reason. “To ensure their children get quality education.”
The 43-second video clip addresses family upkeep and drug addiction.
Happy Father’s Day to every Father in Kano state and the world at Large. I urge you to lend your support as we build #FutureKano for our young ones. pic.twitter.com/MEnGfFxaLq

Ganduje said society faces a very serious issue of drug addiction among young people.
Parents have a great role to play, he said.
“Before outsiders come and notice how your children are behaving, you are the first person to know the condition of your children,” he said.
