The ‘Save Lasisi Adeyemi’ campaign received a boost yesterday as the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, donated N1 million to save the life of a popular independent broadcaster in Ekiti State, Lasisi Adeyemi, who is suffering from a heart disease.

 Adeyemi, who has been on hospital admission for about three weeks, was diagnosed with the heart disease at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

 The former governor visited the family of the broadcaster in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

 The first son of the broadcaster, Adewale Adeyemi, told reporters yesterday that Fayemi also pledged to offset all the patient’s hospital bills.

  Adeyemi’s professional colleagues, on the aegis of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), had launched an appeal fund to save their ill colleague.

 The broadcaster has since been moved to a medical facility in Lagos State for better treatment.
