The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has warned Governor Ayodele Fayose against alleged seizure of voters’ cards from workers.
Fayemi, who concluded his campaigns across the state for the July 14 governorship poll yesterday, said voters had an inalienable right to vote for the candidate of their choice. It’s being alleged that Governor Fayose had ordered school principals and some interest groups among teachers to collect the names, bank accounts, voters’ cards and details of teachers in public schools for profiling.
Fayemi while speaking with newsmen in his Isan-Ekiti home in Oye LGA told Fayose that workers should be allowed to cast votes for their preferred candidates without any intimidation, saying compelling workers and teachers to submit their PVCs as a condition for salary and running grants payment or promotion amounted to undue intimidation and crude blackmail.
