Action continued in the 2022 Daura Senatorial Zone President Muhammadu Buhari Unity Cup as two highly entertaining matches were played yesterday at the Daura Township stadium.

In the opening match, Usman Ango Academy overpowered Jakada Academy Daura 2-0 with Abba Saha spotting jersey number 7 and Ahmad Uddu in jersey number 26 doing the damage.

The determined Jakada Academy boys fought hard to at least reduce the tally but their more illustrious opponents stood firm to clinch the important win in Group C in Daura Centre.

In the second match that was keenly contested, Muhammad Ibrahim was the hero for the defending champions, Porto FC Zango after he scored a hat-trick in the 3-2 defeat of Zumunta FC Daura.

In a spirited fight back, Wadda Daura and Ladis Daura scored a goal each as Zumunta fought in vain for a share of the spoils.

Action will continue today at the Daura township stadium as Eagle Stars trade tackles with Ashafa FC Zango in the only match of the day.

And this afternoon at Mani Centre, FC Robcious Shargalle who had drawn 1-1 with Black Arrow Ingawa on Tuesday will be up against FC Dragon Mani in a group E fixture.

At the Kankia centre, Sani Zangon Daura will face 11 Idea Ingawa in Group G.

According to the organisers, after a break of two days, action will resume with matches in Group C and D on Monday, August 8 as Chelsea battle Mai’adua while Bunturawa Academy square up with FC Nasara Zango in the second match.
