FC Taraba won’t over-respect Pillars – Babangida

Speaking to SHOT!, the former international said his players are motivated by the 1-0 victory over two times African champions, Enyimba FC to go for the full points against Pillars.
He said FC Taraba holds Pillars in high esteem but that will not stop his players from taking the fight to their opponents for the points at stake.
Babangida noted that he was impressed with the performance of his boys so far but said they have to improve on their away results.
He said to do well in the league, FC Taraba must pick away points and there can be no better place to start than Kano.
“It is going to be a massive game against Pillars. They are the defending champions and we must respect them for that.
“However, we are not going to watch them play. My players are self motivated to play because they all know it is a big match.
“We are yet to do get points away from home. As it is, we want to start in our match against Pillars. We shall not over-respect them”.
Babangida also said as professionals, his players are not putting themselves under unnecessary pressure.
He said FC Taraba wants to win but the players are not thinking so much about the magnitude of the game.
“I have advised the players to relax as we build up to the big clash. It will be counter-productive, if they are allowed to get tensed up”, he said.
