The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) has announced a temporary traffic diversion to enable the construction of an interchange bridge along a segment of the Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX), beginning yesterday.
The diversion affects the stretch of a road from Herbert Macaulay Way, just after Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC), to the junction near the National Defence College.
It also covers the Herbert Macaulay Way/Moshood Abiola Road intersection.
According to the administration, traffic will now be redirected through Zakaria Maimalari Street, passing in front of Abuja Environmental Protection Board, with Chelsea Hotel on one side and Access Bank on the other.
Vehicles will continue to Moshood Abiola Road and rejoin Herbert Macaulay Way near the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC), it stated.
A statement by Engr. Richard Dauda, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), said access to all properties will remain open, and officers from the DRTS, police and FRSC will help manage the new traffic flow.
The FCDA apologised for any inconvenience and asked for the public’s cooperation during the project.
