The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos State has matriculated 794 students for the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes for the 2018/2019 academic session.
The students were admitted into different schools and departments including science education, technical education, vocational education and business education
The Acting Provost, Mr. Ephraim O. Dada, advised the new students to attend lectures regularly and work diligently to contribute to national development.
He also implored them to engage themselves in sporting activities either for leisure or good mental health development.
While admonishing them to join clubs and groups registered with the Students’ Affairs Unit, he warned them against secret societies and cultism.
“As students, you are expected to exhibit disciplined, loyal and honest character at all times during your stay in the college. Energy wasted in pursuit of unlawful gains or destructive union activities is tantamount to misplaced priorities and contribute to lowering of standards of education,” Dada said.
The provost also urged the students to refrain from unsavoury acts such as examination malpractice, certificate forgery, illicit drug dealing, fighting, theft and rape among others.
