FCE Yola matriculates first set of undergraduates

Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim A. Njodi, said that 400 students have been admitted as the pioneering students for the undergraduate studies.
Professor Njodi called on the students to shun all forms of social vices and be dedicated to their studies.
He said: “It is heart-warming to note that the management of this college has been working tirelessly to upgrade its facilities and improve on human resources to ensure effective teaching and learning for both NCE and degree students.”
He described the partnership between the University of Maiduguri and the college as a collaborative move to bringing university education to teeming Nigerians.
On his part, the provost of the college, Professor Abdul-Mumin Sa’ad, said the mission of FCE Yola is to become a world standard college.
He said: “Management of the college will continue to strive to ensure that we secure approval to introduce more degree programmes so as to better the chances of the teeming population wishing to further their education.”
Speaking on behalf of the new undergraduate students, Ifeoma Okoye of the English Education department expressed appreciation to the college management and the university for introducing degree programmes.
