The Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola, in affiliation with the University of Maiduguri, on Friday, matriculated 470 newly admitted students into its degree programme for the 2018/2019 academic session.
The vice chancellor, University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who spoke at the event, congratulated the 5th set of matriculants, admonishing them to be hard working and law abiding.
He said the university would support degree programmes at FCE Yola and other affiliate colleges in the country to broaden access to higher education.
The vice chancellor further commended the management of FCE Yola for effectively running degree programme.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Provost of FCE Yola, Professor Abdul-Mumin Sa’ad, disclosed that the college had secured full accreditation status for seven out of the nine degree programmes run in affiliation with the university.
Professor Sa’ad also pointed out that the ongoing reconstruction of four major roads and several drainages in the college using Ecological Fund was a major step taken to tackle the problems of flooding within the campus.
