The immediate past provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Zaria, Dr Ango A. Ladan, has passed away Monday morning.
He died at about 3 am, according to sources.
The Registrar of the college, Dr Jibril Lawal, confirmed the death in a text message, saying that funeral prayer has been slated for 2:30 pm on Monday at Dr Ladan’s family compound in Unguwan Juma, Zaria city.
Daily Trust reports that Dr Ladan’s first tenure expired on 4th February 2021.
However, the Federal Government did not renew his appointment for a second term and did not officially appoint an acting provost.
This raised concerns and anxiety in the college, though the Deputy Provost, Dr Suleiman Balarabe, is presently steering the affairs of the school.
