The FCT Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) has assured  residents of the towns of its preparedness to improve social amenities across the FCT.

Alhaji Isyaku Tanko Yamawo, the coordinator of STDD stated this while on a tour of Kwali Area Council at the weekend.

Yamawo, who met with the Etsu of Kwali, Alhaji Shaban Audu Nizazo (III), at his palace, informed the monarch that he was at the council to inspect some ongoing projects and uncompleted ones in order to see how the FCT administration would intervene.

He further said the department would also ensure it partners with all stakeholders and traditional rulers on how to improve viable amenities across the satellite towns.

Nizazo, while responding, said the satellite towns have become slums due to absence of viable amenities that would impact on the lives of residents of the areas.

He also lamented over poor environmental sanitation exercise in the area, saying some people dumped refuse indiscriminately on the road and drainage.
