FCT-CARES disburses N146.4m for CSDP projects in 14 communities

The FCT COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (FCT-CARES) under the FCT Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP) has presented cheques worth N146,453,103 million to 14 benefiting rural communities for the execution of CSDP projects.

The FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, represented by his Chief of Staff (CoS), Muhammad Bashar Mai-Borno, while presenting the cheques to the communities in Abuja on Thursday, said it was part of the FCT Administration’s effort to improve the well-being of residents.

He said the objective of FCT-CARES was to protect the livelihoods and food security of the poor and vulnerable families negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which, he noted had facilitated local economic activities in the territory and Nigeria at large.

Also speaking, the General Manager (GM) of the CSDP, Dr Shuaibu Adamu, said implementation of the projects across the benefiting communities would commence immediately after the launching.

He, therefore, urged the communities to adhere strictly to World Bank protocols, saying an independent verification team would commence in no distant time.

On his part, the Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, represented by the Etsu Kwali, Alhaji Shaban Audu Nizazo, commended CSDP for its effort towards supporting the rural communities.
