The Chief of Pai Chiefdom in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Sani Pai, has appealed to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the distribution of electricity across various homes in the chiefdom.

Speaking during an interview at his palace on Saturday, the monarch stated that the ongoing rural infrastructure projects across the territory’s satellite towns undern Wike demonstrate that the minister perfectly understands local politics.
He noted that Wike truly understands the challenges faced by rural dwellers, specifically regarding the provision of essential infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
He remarked that Wike, having served as a local government chairman in Rivers State before rising to become a governor and now a minister, possesses a deep understanding of what rural communities desire.
According to the traditional ruler, the Minister has successfully opened up rural roads, including the Pai–Gwomani road, which has significantly boosted socioeconomic activities within his chiefdom.
“Wike is someone who believes in infrastructure, which is exactly what our rural people need. Take the Pai–Gwomani road and bridges, which the Minister has completed; our people can now hold village markets where goods and farm crops are brought to Pai to be sold without the challenges of a bad road network,” he said.
He added that farmers no longer struggle to transport their produce to Kwali or Gwagwalada markets, as the improved access roads have already begun to stimulate economic growth in the area.
The monarch also expressed his appreciation to the minister for upgrading the Pai chiefdom from third-class to second-class status.
He noted that this elevation would further encourage the rural populace to support the government’s activities under the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
