Church pleads with FG to facilitate release of Leah

The United Evangelical Church (UEC) has pleaded with the Federal Government to facilitate the release of Leah Sharibu and other persons held by the Boko Haram insurgents.

This was made known in a communiqué issued at the 2018 4th quarter meeting of the National Standing Committee, held at UEC, Surulere, Lagos and signed by Chairman of Conference, Rev. Samuel U. Ebukiba and Acting general Secretary, Elder Engineer E.S. Andrew.

In the communiqué to Daily Trust Saturday, the meeting, which was presided over by Rev. Ebukiba, encouraged members to add action to prayers by going out to vote when the time comes stressing that churches be educated on proper conduct and alertness during the 2019 elections.  Leah Sharibu is one of the 110 Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped in February 19 this year.

While others have been released, Leah remains in captivity for standing by her Christian faith.
