Kwali Area Council in the FCT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a construction firm, Best Petroleum Nigeria Limited, for the construction of a N13.7 billion ultra-modern trailer park.

The Chairman of the council, Danladi Chiya, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after signing the pact with the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director (CEO/MD) of Best Petroleum, Dr Bestman Paul Anekwe, on Tuesday.

He said the park, which would be sited at Piri-Anini village on the Abuja-Lokoja highway, would be one of the best in the North Central.

He explained that the project was a Public- Private Partnership (PPP) and would include restaurants, a chapel, a mosque, 2,000 shops; DSS, army and police posts; a mega filling station, a recreational centre, banks, a clinic, an administrative block, a fire station and a five-star hotel.

He noted that the park would boost the council’s revenue base, adding that it would create jobs for over 1,000 youths and women.

The chairman also announced a nine-member committee for the project, with council’s Director of Works, Dr Nyizazo Naphtali Audi, as chairman, while Mr Nnamdi Christian Anekwe and Omokafe Jinadu will serve as secretary and coordinator respectively.

The CEO/MD of Best Petroleum, Dr Anekwe, appreciated the chairman for the partnership.

He assured that the firm would carry out quality work, saying arrangements were on to commence clearing of the site in the next two weeks.
