Bwari Chairman Musa Dikko

The Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Musa Dikko, has said that it is his party, the APC, which decided to head to the tribunal to challenge the declaration of the PDP candidate, John Gabaya, as winner of the last council election, and not himself.

Dikko, while speaking via a telephone interview with our reporter yesterday, said since the party, which he contested on its platform, had decided to head to the tribunal, he had no option, saying the party was supreme, hence, he could not stop it from taking such step. He said although the party consulted him immediately after the council elections to know the next line of action, he told the party that he would not challenge the election at the tribunal.

“For me, I have decided not to go to the tribunal after the election which INEC declared the PDP candidate as winner, but actually, my party approached me and said they would be heading to the tribunal to challenge the result. I have no right to stop them because the party is supreme,” he said.

It would be recalled that Musa Dikko of the APC lost his re-election during the last FCT council elections after the PDP candidate, Mr. John Gabaya, was declared winner by INEC after he polled 31,114 votes against Dikko who scored 24,137 votes.
