The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, has said there are 6,464 N-Power volunteers in the territory.
Bello stated this at the opening ceremony of a training programme for Community Based Targeting Team (CBTT) members organised by the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) yesterday.
Represented by the Director, Human Resource Management, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, the minister said, “It is on record that the FCT has been able to select 6,464 volunteers who have been deployed to various agencies of government.”
He said 4,878 volunteers were deployed to education (N-Teach/Community), 644 to health (N-Health) and 942 volunteers were deployed to agriculture (N-Agro).
He said the CBTT members, with their training, would help in collating national social register to be used, among other things, for the cash transfer of N5,000 stipend promised by the Federal Government to the poor and vulnerable people in the territory.
He urged the state coordinating unit of NASSCO to work concertedly with the community based targeting team to give the task all it takes to be able to deliver President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign promise to the poor and vulnerable in FCT as soon as possible.
