Already a valedictory session has been organized for the retiring Chief Judge which will be conducted today at the High Court headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
He will be remembered for introducing major reforms in the federal capital territory’s judicial administration. Some of these include the Ombudsman Unit and Child Care Unit among others.
Justice Bukar hails from Maiduguri Local Government Area of Borno State.  He was called to Bar in 1981. He was a State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice, Borno State from 1982 to 1984.
He joined the Borno State Judiciary as a Magistrate in 1984, was appointed as Secretary Judicial Service Commission in 1989. He became the Director, Judicial Service Commission in 1990, Director Area Courts same year.
 He was appointed as a Judge in the FCT High Court in 1992. On the 23rd of May, 2013 he was appointed as the Acting Chief Judge of the FCT High Court.
On October 11, 2013, he was sworn as Chief Judge FCT High Court by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukthar.
Meanwhile, a technical inquiry has been constituted by the court over the fire incident that gutted its Probate Section on Thursday. The investigations are being conducted by the Fire Service and the police.
The court’s spokesperson, Mrs Tabita Kangiwar said there has been no official report so far on the cause and extent of damage of the inferno.
