The market construction is a partnership between FCT Administration, AMAC and Aso Savings and Loans PLC.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony,  Managing Director of Aso Savings and Loans Plc.  Mr.  Hassan Musa Usman, said that over the years the bank has contributed immensely towards ensuring that the FCT and Nigeria`s housing and commercial real estate objectives are achieved.
He said that the Karu market development commenced in 2011 and is one of the FCT Administration `s goal of establishing quality infrastructure and amenities in each of area council of the FCT.
He said the market comprises standard market facilities consisting of 998 shops across three floors.
“These shops are a mix of lock-up shops of different sizes, open shops, ware houses, restaurants, supermarkets, banking halls, restroom, meat shops, cold room and office spaces. There is an administrative block to ensure the smooth running and proper maintenance ace of the market facilities. The building also houses a security post, a fire service station, a police station as well as a clinic.
He said that bank is pleased to partner with the FCT Administration and AMAC to facilitate the development and sales the market, in addition to Wuse, Kubwa and Lugbe markets.
He said, “Although the name Aso is synonymous with housing delivery, we are also passionate about commercial real estate development. This is because we believe it is not enough to provide housing for Nigerians. As a leading provider of mortgage in Nigeria, it is our primary objective to provide the Nigerian populace access to residential and commercial mortgages to help them meet their housing and commercial needs and aspirations.”
