The FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, yesterday commissioned Kwali water scheme, which was renovated and upgraded by a Chinese company, MS/ CGC.
Musa, while commissioning the project, said it was gratifying that one of the stakeholders in the FCT was supporting the administration’s efforts to provide water to residents.
He said the FCT Administration was grateful to the Chinese company for its support, adding that he was not surprised by the gesture of the company.
“For us in the FCT, I want to inform the managing director of CGC that we consider you part and parcel of us,” he said.
The minister, however, said the FCT administration has done its part by providing an enabling environment that allowed the company to carry out the work in two phases.
He said the remaining difficult aspect of the project was for the residents of Kwali to protect and maintain the project.
In his speech, the managing director of MS/CGC, Tony Ye Shuijin, an engineer, said the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Kwali water project was part of the company’s social responsibility to support the residents.
