The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, has ordered the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) and other relevant agencies of the FCT Administration (FCTA) to clear pedestrian bridges of traders and dirt.
The minister who led a team of heads of relevant agencies to inspect and assess the level of sanitation on the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Expressway (Airport Road), specifically instructed that the road corridor be kept clean at all times.

According to a statement by the minister’s spokesman, Mr Anthony Ogunleye, the inspection was a follow-up on an earlier order that pedestrian bridges in the FCT should not be turned into markets and begging points.
The minister said, “So far, I am pleased with the progress made and the support from the communities along the Umar Yar’adua Expressway.”
He then advised the agencies to sustain their effort and called for the cooperation of the local communities along the road corridor.
