FCT minister promises teachers better welfare

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has assured teachers that his administration is currently making efforts to review and domesticate the National Teachers Education Policy which will enhance their welfare.

The minister gave the assurance at the second combined convocation ceremony of FCT College of Education, Zuba, on Saturday.

“The FCT Administration is currently making efforts to review and domesticate the National Teachers Education policy to enhance teachers’ welfare for better service delivery.

“I therefore enjoin all staff to be dedicated to their work and to give the students the best that is required of them while shunning vices that are inimical to your professional ethics,” he said.

Bello ,who was represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, also urged the college to relocate some of its schools and departments to the permanent site.

The minister assured the school management that the FCT Administration would assist in the relocation to the permanent site, adding that a lot of resources have been expended on the site through the intervention of TETFUND.

The provost of the college, Dr. Muhammad Gambo Hamza, called on the FCT Administration to construct  access roads and complete some buildings at the permanent site.

Hamza also called on the administration to support the college in the accreditation of its programmes and courses, while assuring that the college would continue to maintain high standards.

The provost enjoined the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the college by shunning all things that are inimical to the society.
