Six groups converged on the minister’s Life Camp residence for the formal hand over of keys ceremony.
The groups are: Christian Association of Nigeria Women’s Wing (WOWICAN) FCT Chapter, Women for Change and Development Initiative FCT Chapter, National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) FCT Chapter, Indigenous Students Association Abuja, Hausa/Fulani Karama and Youth Progressive Forum.
The branded vehicles bore the national flag colours and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s green white red umbrella with the inscription Vote GEJ for 2015 on both the front and back of the vehicles.
The associations’ members who turned up in large groups yelled in ecstasy as the minister’s wife announced their names for the car gift.
Speaking before hand over of the cars’ keys, Aisha Mohammed told her guests that the cars are no bribe but for their work.
She said, “We believe you can pass the message. The message is peace. Work day and night to make sure we have peace.”
While charging the people to vote for all PDP candidates in the coming general elections, she said, “From top to down, don’t choose one and leave one. Your PVC is your right.”
At the mention of PVC, youths in the hall rose to their feet brandishing their voter cards chorusing “PVC! PVC! PVC!”
